Information Governance
Information governance allows organisations to ensure that personal information is handled legally, securely, efficiently and effectively, in order to delivery the best possible care. In addition, it helps organisations to put in place procedures and processes for their organisational information that support the efficient location and retrieval of the information when needed.
The NHS has created a set of information governance requirements which provide a framework that brings together all the legal rules, guidance and best practice that apply to the handling of information. At its heart, information governance is about setting a high standard for handling information and giving organisations the tools to achieve that standard.
Cegedim Rx has created some guidance documents to help our customers to understand how this will affect their PMR system. We are currently providing guidance for both level 1 (to be actioned by 31st March 2010) and level 2 (to be actioned by 31st March 2011).
We hope these documents provide all the information you need from us to complete the IG workbook. If you require further information please call our service desk on 0844 630 2000.
