Cegedim Rx Announces New Medicines Service Functionality
Leyland, Lancashire – January 27th 2012 – Cegedim Rx has released PMR system improvements to support Nexphase customers in implementing the New Medicines Service.
Pharmacies are using the NMS to support patients who have been newly prescribed medicines for certain long-term conditions. The NMS is designed to improve medicines adherence in this key patient group by providing them with information, advice and solutions to any concerns.
Cegedim Rx has taken a staged approach to supporting customers in delivering the NMS. The first stage of the updated functionality was released to Nexphase customers in November 2011 and included a new on-screen prompt to help pharmacies to identify patients who were potentially eligible for the service.
The second stage of the project has now been completed and is being rolled out free of charge firstly to Nexphase customers across England as part of a software upgrade from 25th January 2012. The NMS functionality includes an improved on-screen prompt and the option to print labels for eligible patients. Pharmacists using Nexphase will also be able to record within the patient’s record that an NMS intervention has taken place.
A Nexphase guide to the NMS and targeted MURs is available to Nexphase customers on the Cegedim Rx website customer area at www.cegedimrx.co.uk/customer-area. This is one of many customer only guides available to support pharmacists in using Nexphase to its full potential.
Development for Pharmacy Manager has followed the same approach with the first stage being released in October 2011 and the second stage will be ready to roll out to customers over the coming weeks.
Clive Eckett, sales and marketing director at Cegedim Rx, commented, “At Cegedim Rx we make every effort to ensure that our PMR systems provide our customers with the support that they need to successfully run a busy pharmacy. We are pleased to announce the milestones achieved for the second stage of our NMS project in our systems, and we are confident that the new functionality will aid our customers in delivering the service.”
