Cegedim Rx Delivers Increased Support for National Programmes in Pharmacy Manager
Latest Pharmacy Manager release includes EPS release 2 nomination features, NMS support, and improved repeat management across all national electronic prescription programmes
Leyland, Lancashire – March 8th, 2012 – Cegedim Rx has introduced new functionality and major improvements to Pharmacy Manager to better support customers in delivering the pharmacy contracts across England, Scotland and Wales.
EPS Release 2 Nominations Support
The latest NHS Connecting for Health figures show that 207,215 nominations have been set to date and almost one third of pharmacies now ready to dispense electronic prescriptions*, indicating that pharmacies in England are appreciating EPS R2 and how vital nominations are to securing their prescription business.
Cegedim Rx’s Message Dynamics module complements this service by sending voice or text messages to patients to remind them when their prescription is due and inform them when it is ready to collect. The service has now been further developed with a new consent form to enable Pharmacy Manager customers to secure patient nominations at the same time that patients consent to the Message Dynamics service. In addition, pharmacies are now able to use the service to re-confirm nominations just before their GP goes live, in line with NHS guidance.
Cegedim Rx provides Message Dynamics, its voice and text messaging service, free of charge to customers for 6 months upon placing an order for EPS release 2, as a tool to help pharmacies to build patient loyalty and secure nominations.
Improvements have been made to the existing functionality to provide more visible alerts, in the form of on screen prompts and optional printed labels, to notify pharmacists of patients who could be suitable for the NMS.
Improved Repeat Management
Pharmacy Manager now offers a complete managed repeat and patient messaging service for all prescription types following the integration of electronic repeat prescriptions with its Repeat Rx and Message Dynamics modules. This double enhancement covers all regional prescription formats (English EPS release 2, ePharmacy in Scotland and 2DRx in Wales), as well as continuing to be compatible with paper prescriptions.
Further new functionality allows pharmacists to operate without the formality of a repeat management service, whilst still taking advantage of the efficiencies introduced by downloaded electronic repeat prescriptions. This feature is known as ‘unmanaged repeats’ and offers Pharmacy Manager customers a lighter approach to repeats handling.

Cegedim Rx also develops and provides the Nexphase PMR system. The NMS improvements were made available to Nexphase customers in January 2012 and the Message Dynamics with repeat management development is currently underway.
