Cegedim Rx Launches New Medicines Service Support

Following on from the launch of the New Medicines Service (NMS) in England, Cegedim Rx has taken a staged approach to supporting pharmacies, based on helping to identify patients that could be eligible for the service.

The first stage is already available. As part of the dispensing process Pharmacy Manager and Nexphase display an on screen prompt to highlight potentially eligible patients. Pharmacists using either Pharmacy Manager or Nexphase received this functionality within the October and November tariff updates respectively and will receive an update each month.

In the medium term Cegedim Rx is further developing Nexphase and Pharmacy Manager with an improved on screen prompt and the option to print a label for patients who could qualify. In addition, pharmacists will be able to record within the patient’s record that an NMS intervention has taken place.

What’s more, both phases will be provided to customers free of charge.
