EPOS System

Cegedim Rx have partnered with CSY to deliver one of the most comprehensive electronic point of sale available in the UK. Since the EPOS system was first developed in 1990, it has grown into a reliable, cost-effective system that will not only deal swiftly with customers, but also help you increase your profits.

Available in keyboard or touch-screen versions, the point of sale has recently been integrated for use with Pharmacy Manager version 7. Not only this, but it is updated with the latest product information and stock files from both C&D and Unichem. The software is also compliant to work with EPS as the connection is via the NHS Spine, therefore approval has been granted by Connecting for Health.

The point of sale system is also fully flexible, allowing customisation to suit you and your pharmacy. The ability to create your own touch buttons with images of the products lets you create shortcuts to the most popular items, saving your valuable time.

Currently the integrated solution offers

Interaction between the PMR and the EPOS:

  • Bar-coded script is scanned at the EPOS till
  • The detail is then transmitted to the PMR and then on to the NHS Spine
  • Information is then transmitted back with any additions and amendments

The functionality is fully flexible to fit around the process of serving customers over the counter.

Prescription detail tickets are also produced at the till. One is for the customer to take away, and the other to identify the prescription bag.

Sales

The EPOS has a number of features that can help improve almost every aspect of your business. In sales, the EPOS system gives you a number of features and abilities to ease over the counter sales, which can save you both time and money. Some of the features include:

  • Intuitive workflow
  • Bar coded till receipts, credit notes and gift vouchers
  • Full refund functionality
  • Real time communication between networked tills in-pharmacy and within your group
  • Management reports available
  • Suspended sale - allowing you to continue with other items while saving a pending transaction
  • Delivery management
  • Fax, e-mail and electronic ordering available to all mainline suppliers
  • Prescription charges available on hot keys
  • Integrated pin and chip, approved with most major merchant banks

The EPOS also enables you to produce a number of reports; be them for stock, order status summary or even supplier lists. There is even the capability of seasonal variation cover, and various stock control and replenishment features.

Store Sync

The EPOS is also enabled to increase store synchronisation. A feature that replicates all transactional data at all terminals via broadband helps your pharmacy stays up-to-date.

The EPOS also gives those with a number of pharmacies the ability to stay synchronised. A central price setting and buying control, a stock checking and reporting access across all branches and a warehouse system make sure that your pharmacy is communicating with the others in your pharmacy group, to help you stay on top of things.

Manage Customer Orders

Along with store synchronicity, the point of sale enables the pharmacist to manage customer orders. It does this by storing the customers details, automatically adds the ordered item(s) to the next wholesaler order, and when a deposit is received, it provides a receipt.

The EPOS also flags up orders when they are booked, and reports on all outstanding orders. These features could be used for a Christmas club or a savings scheme for your customers.

Quick Menu

A set of shortcuts are available on the point of sale, which make it easy to access the more common features required or items which have no barcodes. It also enables photographic processing, and the ability to serve private prescriptions. Not only is this, but essential services such as MUR’s are easily accessible via shortcuts, saving valuable time.
