Repeat prescription and delivery service management

Repeat prescriptions have recently been estimated to take up more than 70 percent of your business. Because of this significant proportion of business, Repeat Rx was created. It is an optional module that integrates with Pharmacy Manager to help you manage your repeat prescription collection and delivery service by utilising its information, helping you improve efficiency.

Managing Repeats

Patients authorise you to request repeat prescriptions on their behalf once they have registered with the system. This means that you can dispense all of your patients' repeat prescriptions, unless they prefer to continue to request them. Repeat Rx will prompt you to remind them when it is time to request their prescription if they choose this option. Not only this, but the program tracks your repeat prescriptions from when they are requested to when they are issued to patients.

Because Repeat Rx monitors your patients' GP review dates, it ensures repeat prescriptions are requested and issued at a time that will give your patients a bigger chance of being compliant with their medication.

Patient Recruitment
  • Generate patient and doctor letters
  • Generate patient consent forms
Requesting Prescriptions
  • Once a patient is registered, Pharmacy Manager will calculate when the next prescription is due, based on the drug quantity and dosage
  • Repeat Rx automatically tells the pharmacist which patients are due for a repeat prescription
  • Send an automatic request for the prescription to the GP by letter, fax or telephone
  • If preferred the pharmacist can select to remind the patient to request a prescription
  • Review a patient's entire drug record
  • Check the status of a prescription
Dispensing Prescriptions
  • Repeat prescriptions will be dispensed in the same way as any other prescription
  • All repeat dispensings are linked to the Pharmacy Manager database so that all potential contra-indications or interactions will be detected
  • The pharmacist can check the status of each requested prescription
Collection or Delivery
  • Optional delivery status tracking
  • The patient can choose whether they would like to collect the prescription or have it delivered
  • The system provides a full audit trail so that the pharmacist can provide evidence of the movement of the prescription
  • A letter is printed to be signed by the patient to confirm delivery
  • Forms are printed to confirm exemptions and customer deliveries
