EPS Release 2 – Are You Ready?

For pharmacies that have the correct smartcards in place, it is currently taking an average of seven weeks for to complete an order, this includes training pharmacy staff and working with NHS Connecting for Health to process the golden script which triggers your £1000 payment. Unfortunately we are unable to fast-track orders so if you wait for your local GP to go live before ordering EPS release 2 you risk not being ready in time and losing nominations to your competitors.

For EPS release 2 everybody in your pharmacy who will be using the PMR system to dispense scripts will need to have their own smartcards. Pharmacists and locums should have role R8003 with activities B0572 and B0825 and technicians should have role R8008 with activity B0572 only.
